In 1978, after considering the possibility for some time, makes his first journey to the United States. During this stay, establishes a link with the trend gallery Will Stone Collection of San Francisco (personal exhibition of November 1979 and collective “European Artists” in 1980). Returns several times in later years, and his contact with America becomes increasingly frequent, partly as a result of the personal and collective exhibitions that the gallery-owner organizes for him.
In 1982 and 1984 is present at “Artexpo” for Graphis Arte at the New York Coliseum, New York City, alternating stays in the United States with periods in Italy.
In 1987, organizes two personal exhibitions, the first at the Il Mezzanino Art Gallery in Pistoia (Italy), and the second at the Guastalla Gallery “Fante di Picche” in Livorno (Italy), presented in the catalogue by Gianni Pozzi. These two exhibitions include the artist's work over the previous ten years, in which the American influence has made itself felt, stimulating the artist to work in the sphere of the imaginary and the fantastic. From this moment on, the artist turn his interest and attention to his favourite themes of his origins, evolving, as we shall see later, a renewed vein of inspiration which emerges forcefully in the spheres of landscapes and still life and others.
“And then? Simply it happened that, during his long journey to escape the stitches of tradition, Pelleschi has completed a sort of periplus: ending to find himself in that same point where the journey initiated” (Gianni Pozzi, 1987)
The long sea voyage has been done: the periplus is finished.
